Mater Dei Hospital, with its 35,000 square meter area, holds a modern structure

and automated facilities to ensure comfort and practicality to the customer. Through remote control, the patient can monitor the TV, air conditioning and electrical shades. The bed is also automated , which allows it to be regulated by the patient himself. Furthermore, the patient can be in touch with the nursing team through amplified mode intercom  located on a rod at the bedside near the bed. Each bed has also got an intelligent system software which allows the recording of the information about the patient,  and the control of medication.

The advanced automation system controls air conditioning, TV internal circuit, virtual nursery, elevators and apartments. The technology used on the elevators provides greater agility and practicability to the users.

The Intensive Care Unit has been enlarged and it was inaugurated in June, 2006. It offers 50 beds in its 1,500m² assistance area. It is divided in four

big sectors: coronary unit; neurology, polytraumatism and emergency; clinic-surgical and long lasting care.

Mater Dei Hospital has recently purchased new equipment in order to perform exams of magnetic resonance, hemodynamics, bone densitometry and digestive endoscopy. More than U$ 1,5 million have been invested  on information technology aiming the improvement of the internal flow controls and quality of information.

Investment on cutting-edge technology is being continuously made. Sectors like surgical unit, ultrasound, diagnose unit, nursery, adult and children’s ICUs and maternity are equipped to ensure not only the best conditions of work to physicians but also security to customers.
