History

Mater Dei Hospital was inaugurated on June 1st, 1980, in the district of Santo Agostinho, a noble region of the city of Belo Horizonte, in the state of Minas Gerais. It has been enlarged recently and now its complex  comprises two modern and spacious buildings. Its philosophy is based on three basic principles: science, culture  and humanization, having elected the multidisciplinary assistance, education and research as its prime target.

Its mission is “commitment with quality for life”.  As a general hospital it has adopted a system of open physician team that holds more than 1,700 physicians and 1,100 other qualified professional caretakers.
