Besides the high qualification of its physician team, the pioneering of the emergency team is also outstanding. The follow up of the patients is continuously made by only one team, from admission to discharge, tailoring and improving the assistance. The Hospital also offers a Customer Support Service (SAC) which is an open channel for dialogue.
The contact with the patient is done in several ways, depending on his/her needs and can involve the emergency attending, hospitalization; support of diagnose and therapeutic service; the nursing team. Complaints, suggestions or praises are made and given by the patient when he/she fills in the assessment form. All forms are then tabulated and measured by SAC. As data is collected the action is taken. When the patient requires a more special support, the sector is at his/her entire disposal to help with his/her specific needs. The board also establishes a direct contact with the patients by means of visits that the own directors pay to every apartment.
The highly qualified physician team, which holds more than 1,700 members, also represents a differential treatment to the patients and contributes to the pioneering of Mater Dei Hospital, being always ahead of medical innovations. In 1989, Mater Dei Hospital performed the first in vitro fertilization in the state of Minas Gerais, with a successful resulting pregnancy. The setting up of the first Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Minas Gerais in 1986 is another example of the Hospital’s pioneering. |
